Separate sustained FPS loss from network lag
Frame-rate loss usually looks like uneven or choppy animation. Connection trouble more often shows delayed actions, position jumps or reconnection messages while animation may remain smooth. Record which pattern appears before changing settings.
Compare like with like. An empty practice lane and a crowded late-game fight do not create the same workload, so use the same scene, graphics preset and frame-rate target in the cold and warm tests.
| Pattern | Controlled comparison |
|---|---|
| Smooth at first, worse when warm | Same scene after cooling and after similar play time |
| Choppy only in crowded fights | Same fight type at a lower graphics preset |
| Slow in menus and other apps | Device-wide storage, update and app checks |
| Smooth animation with delayed movement | Wi-Fi/mobile-data and server-status checks |
| Frame-rate option is absent | Display cap, game option and exact device/version check |
Change one setting and repeat the same test
Start by lowering graphics while keeping the frame-rate target unchanged. Repeat a comparable sequence. If the slowdown remains, lower the frame-rate target and test again. A small log of settings, session length, charging state and scene is enough to identify a stable combination.
Turn off screen recording for the main comparison because recording adds work. If a recording is needed for support, state that it was active. Do not rely on an unofficial FPS unlocker or modified client to expose a setting.
Let the device cool safely
Apple documents that an overly warm iPhone or iPad can dim the display, slow or stop charging, and reduce frame rates or increase processing time in some apps and features. That makes heat a valid factor to test, not proof that heat caused this MLBB session.
Stop when the device shows a temperature warning. Move it away from direct sunlight and let it cool naturally. Do not place a hot phone in a freezer or use moisture-producing cooling methods. Compare an off-charger session only when the battery level and device instructions make that safe.
Use device checks when more than MLBB is slow
Android recommends a restart, system and app updates, a connection check and a storage review for device-wide slowness. Its current guide says phones can begin having issues below 10 percent free storage. Treat that as a system troubleshooting threshold, not a guaranteed MLBB performance fix.
If only MLBB slows in the same reproducible scene, keep the version, settings and timing for game support. If the whole phone remains slow, continue with the device manufacturer's support path before deleting game data or resetting the phone.

Know when the fix is complete
Keep the highest setting that stays stable in a repeated, comparable scene. Escalate with the device, OS, MLBB version, settings, session duration and heat pattern when no safe combination is stable.
