Restrict in-app purchases with Screen Time
Open Apple's Screen Time purchase restrictions and set in-app purchases to the blocking option described by the current guide. Protect the Screen Time passcode so the restriction cannot be casually reversed.
Review the control on each iPhone or iPad that can use the Apple Account for purchases.
Use family approval for a child account
Apple also describes family purchase approval for child accounts. Use the verified family configuration and keep the organizer's Apple Account credentials private.
A shared device without a protected passcode can defeat the purpose of the purchase restriction even when the menu setting is correct.
Handle an earlier charge by its actual state
A completed purchase requires purchase history and possibly a refund request; an unknown apple.com/bill entry requires charge identification; a missing MLBB item requires delivery support.
Do not make another purchase to test the control. Verify the setting and approval behavior before returning the device to normal use.
Safe stopping point
Leave with a verified status or case reference
Stop when the device blocks or requires the intended approval for an in-app purchase. Use the matching Apple billing route for any earlier transaction.
