Istanbul will host the Finals
MOONTON’s September announcement names Istanbul, Türkiye, as the M8 World Championship Finals host city in January 2027. Its earlier esports roadmap places the Wild Card stage in Thailand.
Neither checked source names a Finals arena or gives exact M8 match days. The city is useful for planning, but a trip still needs the later venue and schedule announcement.
Confirmed routes into M8
The separate MCT SEA announcement says its top two teams move to the M8 Main Stage and third and fourth enter the Wild Card. That explains one regional route without establishing the complete M8 team field.
MPL PH Season 18 Playoffs on 21–25 October at PhilSports Arena will determine the Philippine representatives. The announcement establishes the qualifying event, not the winning teams or the complete M8 field.
Exact schedule and format remain pending
January 2027 is a confirmed month, not an exact match schedule. A dated M8 notice is still needed for the arena, match order, start times and broadcast details.
When that source appears, retain the roadmap as the earlier host evidence and update the answer-changing fields.

Istanbul is confirmed for the January 2027 Finals, with Thailand set for Wild Card. Recheck MOONTON for the arena and day-by-day schedule before planning travel or viewing.
